Health & Wellness Services

At FlexPlus Physical Therapy, our goal is not just to help you feel better, but to keep you feeling better. To help, we offer a variety of health and wellness services in our Natick, MA location.

FootMaxx Orthotics

Orthotics are custom-made inserts to correct postural and bio-mechanical issues. While custom orthotics will help with back pain and hip pain, they are most commonly associated with ankle and foot problems. Orthotics can help correct a multitude of problems, including (but not limited to) plantar fasciitis, shin splints, bunions, balance issues, achilles tendinitis, and low back pain.

At FlexPlus Physical Therapy, we use Footmaxx to custom-fit orthotics. For more than 20 years, Footmaxx helps bring personalized care to patients of all lifestyles by improving their function, easing pain, and helping correct biomechanics.

Each patient who comes to FlexPlus for orthotics is fully evaluated by one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy to determine whether or not orthotics are appropriate, and if so, which orthotics would be best for your lifestyle. We use the Footmaxx Metascan™ to analyze a patient's gait cycle - the time and movement during locomotion where one foot contacts the ground, and then that same foot again contacts the ground. The diagnostic scan uses highly advanced proprietary software to evaluate patients for knee, hip, low back, balance, and biomechanical issues by measuring the eight key foot landmarks (outside heel, inside heel, five toe joints, and the big toe).

Before the patient even leaves our clinic, the images are sent to the manufacturer and placed in the cue for manufacturing. Orthotics are usually received back in our office within one week.

The Metascan™ system is the same system many podiatrists use. This is the most precise method for custom orthotics, since it uses a true 1-to-1, pressure-sensitive image of the patient's foot and a gait analysis.

So what's the difference between our orthotics and a podiatrist's orthotics? Simply the price! At FlexPlus Physical Therapy, our goal is your total health and wellbeing, and orthotics may be a part of that. Therefore, we want to make orthotics as accessible as possible.

Laser light therapy has been used worldwide for over 20 years. At FlexPlus Physical Therapy in Natick, we are excited to say that we have the most up-to-date technology offering the LightForce FXi class IV laser!

The class IV laser differs from previous classes by being a "deep tissue" laser. Unlike previous lasers, deep tissue laser therapy (DTLT) penetrates the skin surface to the underlying issues, triggering normal cellular activity and functions. The FXi laser emits 15 watts of light, up to 30x more powerful than class III lasers!

DTLT has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2002. Research has show unique benefits to DTLT, including improving blood flow in the area, reducing swelling, inflammation, and edema in the area, stimulates cell regeneration and tissue repair, stimulating nerve function, and developing collagen and muscle tissue. These benefits stimulate healing and result in faster recover times.

Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is also unique in that it has very few contraindications. It can be used on nearly any part of the body and for almost all aches and pains, including arthritis, lower back pain, tendinitis, sprains and strains, repetitive stress injuries, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD), wound healing, post-operative pain, soft tissue swelling, soft tissue injuries, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and so much more.

DTLT is available at FlexPlus Physical Therapy in conjunction with your physical therapy treatments, or as a stand-alone appointment.

Fitness

At FlexPlus Physical Therapy, we want you to be happy and healthy, so we offer a variety of fitness options. For individual one-on-one sessions, we offer a personal trainer, certified by the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

If you are seeking a more independent program, our physical therapists can design a medically-based fitness program to meet your needs based on your physical therapy assessment. You can use this program to bring to the gym, or you can use our facility and equipment to carry out the program with the professionals nearby to answer questions, correct form and posture, and progress your program.

Retail

FlexPlus Physical Therapy carries the equipment you may need or choose to use for your health and wellness, including Muscle MX CBD products. Muscle MX uses clean ingredients and independently tested broad-spectrum CBD oil to produce high-quality products to help with pain relief and to suppress inflammation.
